FIDO Alliance Certification Program Secretariats play an important role in the certification process. The Program\u00a0Secretariats are responsible for the implementation, operation, and management of the certification programs of FIDO Alliance<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Certification Secretariat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Certification Secretariat is responsible for the overall delivery of all FIDO Certification programs, including User Authentication for FIDO2, U2F, and UAF Authenticators and Servers, Passkey Providers, Biometrics for Facial, Fingerprint, Iris, and Voice components, Remote Identity Verification for Document Authenticity (DocAuth) and Face Verification components, and Device Onboarding<\/a> for FDO Devices, Onboarding Services, and Rendezvous Servers. Responsibilities include oversight of conformance and interoperability testing, development of new programs, maintenance of current programs, FIDO Accredited Laboratory management, certificate processing, invoicing, and trademark oversight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Security Secretariat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Security Secretariat is responsible for the management of Security Certification<\/a> for Authenticators, FDO Devices, and Onboarding Services. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving applications and vendor questionnaires, monitoring security threats, and coordinating with FIDO Accredited Security Labs. In addition, the Security Secretariat acts as an independent security expert and advisor to the FIDO Alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biometric Secretariat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Biometric<\/a> Secretariat is responsible for the management of the Biometric Component Certification program. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving applications and test plan documentation, validating lab evaluation reports, coordinating program updates, and coordinating with FIDO Accredited Biometric Labs. In addition, the Biometric Secretariat acts as an independent biometric expert and advisor to the FIDO Alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Identity Verification Secretariat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Identity Verification (IDV)<\/a> Secretariat is responsible for the management of the Document Authenticity (DocAuth)<\/a> and Face Verification Certification<\/a> programs. Responsibilities include reviewing and approving applications and test plan documentation, validating lab evaluation reports, coordinating program updates, and coordinating with FIDO Accredited DocAuth and Face Labs. In addition, the IDV Secretariat acts as an independent identity expert and advisor to the FIDO Alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
